MTN Ghana Foundation has held project pitching for the Enterprise Support Program aimed at boosting youth entrepreneurship and driving innovation across the country.
This is to verify business information, assess business modules and status of each shortlisted applicant.
Nine pitch competitions and interviews were held in Greater Accra, Ashanti and Western regions which are areas targeted for the first year of this laudable initiative.
Selected businesses are those owned by the youth, students, women and persons with disabilities.
In the Greater Accra region, 56 youth-led, 17 women-led and 29 differently abled entrepreneurs pitched and were interviewed.

Out of this, 31 youth-led, 17 women-led and 20 differently abled businesses were selected.
In the Western region, 24 youth-led, 19 women-led and 18 differently abled entrepreneurs pitched and were interviewed.
After the process, 12 youth-led, 19 women-led and 14 differently abled businesses were selected.
Whiles in the Ashanti region, 16 youth-led, 5 women-led and 24 differently abled entrepreneurs pitched and were interviewed.
After the session, 7 youth-led, 3 women-led and 17 differently abled entrepreneurs were selected.

In all, 140 selected businesses will go through incubation and training on practical business and ideas for implementation.
The MTN Ghana Foundation’s Enterprise Support Program which is in partnership with Innohub Foundation, is part of MTN’s legacy projects aimed at accelerating socio-economic growth through economic empowerment initiatives.
Through this partnership, MTN Enterprise Support Program will support 500 small businesses operated by youth, students, women and persons with disabilities over a five-year period with training, business development support, technical assistance and seed funding.
