Ghanaian rapper and singer, Kwame Tsikata, popularly known as M.anifest says he despises the unwarranted pitting of Ghana and the Nigerian music industry against themselves.
According to him, African artistes have a common continental goal to push their music globally.
“We have a pan-African movement moving now and that’s very important, we’re a very integral part of a pan-African movement that is going global and to see ourselves in competition with other people who are part of us is needless,” he said in an interview with JoyNews’ Becky.
He made these comments during a private listening session of Nigerian singer, Patoranking’s ‘World Best’ album on September 3, 2023.
“I despise the comparisons, I will say it again, I despise the comparison because we are in the same boat,” the rapper said.
The ‘god MC’ encouraged his fellow artists to be united and figure out how to promote and expand the industry creatively and commercially over shores instead of competing among one another.
“At the end of the day let’s just put in work,” the rapper said.
M.anifest also commended Patoranking for the good work and for featuring about 20 Ghanaian artistes in his career.
