A 32-year-old health worker met a lady in 2020 with whom he eventually saw a future. Their feelings grew as they conversed in a distant manner until a time when the lady invited him over.
Prior to this, the man known as JJJ (not his real name) had made a conscious effort to stay away from sex until marriage.
He had just converted to Christianity from Islam and even became a Deacon in his current church due to his hard work and love for God.
But his resolve was about to face its toughest test yet.
On her invitation, JJJ travelled across regions to go visit this lady. He had already reiterated to her his plans of maintaining his celibacy during their upcoming meeting in line with his new-found commitment to God, and she agreed.
Speaking on Joy Prime as part of the Secrets and Confessions series, JJJ recounted that what transpired at the meet-up was a far cry from what he had envisioned. The duo had a sexual encounter.
“From there things couldn’t hold on I’m going to be frank, we messed up ourselves then from there, life became hard for me,” he said on September 14.
One day, he ordered something for the lady but the order delayed, this led to a misunderstanding between the lady and the vendor who was apparently her friend.
Things got heated up between his girlfriend and her friend which triggered the latter to call him to explain things.
Mr. JJJ pointed out that, while the friend was explaining things, she said something about his girlfriend which he kept as a secret. But in an argument with his girlfriend one day, he accidentally used the information against her.
“So one day we were having an argument and I used that word against her, she felt I betrayed her which I agreed, I pleaded with her severally,” he said.
That was how their relationship was cut short. Since this development, the health worker became addicted to fornication.
He says the tragic break-up has led him to indulge in sexual encounters with multiple women just to numb the pain he is going through. This approach has, however, proven futile.
“I pleaded with her [ex-girlfriend] severally, she said she has forgiven me but we couldn’t continue the relationship, I tried all my best but to no avail, so I decided to move on."
“I picked another lady, I slept with the lady but I didn’t have any love for lady, I dropped her, I went in for another lady thinking things would get better, but it didn’t work, I went for the 3rd one, it didn’t work, the fourth one, it didn’t work.”
JJJ still has feelings for her and is unable to shake it off.
“But what is giving me sleepless nights is that whatever I’m doing, I have the mind of my first woman, apart from her any lady that I pick, I just make pleasure and go,” he lamented.
This he explained has made him a sex addict, as he cannot go a single day without sleeping with someone.
Mr. JJJ cried that this situation has seriously destroyed his relationship with God as he used to be a staunch Christian. He now needs help to curb this situation.
On the same show was Lead Pastor of Grace Avenue, Pastor Timothy Bentum who advised him and also urged individuals to abstain from pre-marital sex as it goes a long way to create these kinds of bonds.
