It was an atmosphere of hope and gratitude which enveloped the island community of Seva as both young and old gathered to receive a much-needed gesture of goodwill.
In a poignant and brief drama, the residents portrayed their daily struggles with accessing potable water, bringing their plight into the spotlight.
The heart-wrenching scenes depicted nursing mothers forced to reuse dirty water for domestic chores, children embarking on arduous treks for water, often missing school, and pregnant women facing difficulties in bathing their babies upon delivery.
But today, a ray of hope has pierced through the clouds as Ghana's leading water tank manufacturing company, Sintex Tank, comes to the aid of the Seva community.
This intervention followed a moving story by Joy Prime’s Emmanuel Dzivenu that highlighted the island's dire water situation, titled "Thirsty Island."

The island community received a generous donation of three six-thousand-litre lockable, double-layer, 100 percent UV-stabilised water tanks from Sintex. These tanks symbolise a new beginning for Seva, as they will store clean water for the entire community, promising a brighter future.
Marketing Coordinator of Sintex Tanks, Ebenezer Twum Barimah, expressed his satisfaction with this initiative, highlighting the impact these tanks will have on the lives of Seva's residents.
“Today, we are taking a step towards rectifying this injustice. We believe in the Seva community’s potential, and we recognise the struggles they face due to a lack of clean water. Today, we have chosen to make a meaningful contribution towards improving your lives.”

“These Sintex tanks we’re donating represent more than containers for the water. They represent our commitment to the welfare and development of our communities. We are made in Ghana, and it’s in Ghana that we will continue to make a difference,” he said.
He further entreated the community to take proper care of the tanks in order to protect their lifespan and serve their intended purpose.

Local community leaders were happy with the gesture and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the support and attention brought to their pressing water issue.
They firmly believe that the Sintex tanks will significantly ease the community's daily struggles and improve their overall quality of life. Togbe Lotsu Makua IV, the chief of Seva, conveyed his appreciation for the intervention.
He indicated that “it is a day the chiefs and people of Seva will forever remember. Sintex Tank has printed its name in the sand of time when it comes to writing the history of Seva. Like Oliver Twist, we wish for more tanks.”
Member of Parliament for the Keta Constituency, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, commended Mr. Emmanuel Dzivenu and Joy Prime for highlighting the plight of the people of the Seva.
He also thanked Sintex Tank for their donation, which will go a long way in reducing the burden on households travelling several kilometres in search of potable water.

In addition to the water tanks, Sintex Tank is generously covering the cost of filling the tanks for the first time. This added assistance provides even more relief to the residents of Seva, who have long grappled with water scarcity.
Residents of Seva were overwhelmed with joy and shared their excitement with Joy Prime, conveying their optimism for a brighter future with improved access to clean water.

For now, the people of Seva can look forward to a better future with improved access to clean water, thanks in part to the generosity of Sintex Tank and the spotlight cast on their challenges by Joy Prime.
