Chief Abiola, the road manager for Stonebwoy has discounted claims that there was a rift between his artiste and rapper Sarkodie at this year's Tidal Rave Festival.
After the show which was held on November 4, 2023 at the LaPalm Royal Beach Hotel, reports suggested that Stonebwoy's performance was distracted by some people from Sarkodie's camp including his manager Angel and his official disc jockey, DJ Mensah.
The reports also cited an altercation that ensued between the two camps suggesting that the artistes were not on good terms.
Responding to the issue on Hitz FM's morning show, Daybreak Hitz, Stonebwoy's manager Chief Abiolo told the host Andy Dosty that the matter was between the team members who were backstage and that the main artistes had no idea about what was going on.
"According to the conversation that we had [with the producers] Stonebwoy was supposed to close the event. He was supposed to perform for 45 minutes. And so they gave us a time, we complied. He was supposed to be there before 11pm. We got there before 11pm, we were at backstage," he said.
He noted that the backstage was very disorganised probably due to production hiccups.
"I would say they were probably overwhelmed by the number of artistes backstage. And I think they got it wrong with coordinating who was to go on stage at what time," he stated.
He further recounted that while Stonebwoy was performing, the producer of the show came to tell him to end Stonebwoy's performance on the 30th minute instead of 45th.
Chief Abiolo in his account said he felt disrespected that while Stonebwoy was performing, DJ Mensah mounted the stage, to tell them Stonebwoy had kept too long on stage, while he started mounting his equipment for Sarkodie.
He said this caused a confrontation between them.
"It was purely between me and Mensah and then eventually the microphone went off," he said.
He mentioned that he was ready to sort out any misunderstanding that ensued between him and DJ Mensah.
In the meantime, the organisers of the event, Echo House, are yet to speak to what really may have caused the confusion.
