Black coach, Chris Hughton has admitted his side was 'nervous' in the first half against Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Ghana struggled to string passes together in majority of the 45 minutes with the Malagasy dominating possession and created chances.
Goalkeeper Richard Ofori had to make three saves to keep the score levelled.
But the players were beyond recognition in the second half and were rewarded with a win thanks to Inaki Williams' dramatic winner with seconds left to full time.
"We showed a bit of nervousness in our play, this was start of the campaign, big game for us," Hughton said at post match conference.
"Wonderful homecrowed, I think we were nervous in our play. Sometimes, you have to get through that period. They [Madagascar] were very good in that period.
"My two disappointments are the first half performance which needed to be better. The second half performance, I thought it was excellent with the only disappointment that we didn't score the goals I think the performance warranted."
Ghana travel to Moroni to face Comoros who top Group I after dispatching Central Africa Republic 4-2.
