Today on Newsfile, host, Samson Lardy Ayenini and his panel discussed the 2024 budget.
The budget dubbed the 'Nkunim' budget was delivered on the floor of Parliament by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
While the budget announced a sleuth of zero VAT rates for commodities including locally produced sanitary pads, imported electric vehicles among others, it has faced sharp criticism for not living up to expectation.
According to the Minority in Parliament, the budget failed to address the economic problems bedeviling Ghana's economy.
Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson, opined that the budget introduced new taxes, and still maintained tax exemptions for companies affiliated to the ruling party.
The minority has since vowed to reject the budget if those tax-exempted companies are maintained.
