Scores of voluntary blood donors in Kumasi turned up to participate in the last edition of the Luv Fm quarterly blood donation drive.
Over 200 pints of blood were received to stock the Blood Bank at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
The blood donors who thronged the forecourt of Luv FM and Nhyira FM say it was an opportunity to help save lives while participating in health screening ahead of the yuletide.

The regular blood donation campaign, in collaboration with the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), is to help stock the National Blood Bank.
Ali Mohammamed, a regular donor, said, "This is the 75th time I'm donating blood, I believe it's a life saving activity, so I always make sure I join any blood donation exercise
It's also a screening period for me to check my health status ahead of Christmas."
"I donate for two reasons; to save lives and check my personal health. I always encourage people to always volunteer to donate blood," Baffour, an 18th time donor said.
According to the head of recruitment at the Komfo Anokye Blood Bank, Kwame Asenso Mensah, blood donation is a social responsibility.
He emphasized more cancer patients need blood to be saved.

Kwame Asenso Mensah lauded Luv FM and Nhyira for supporting the National Blood Service with the blood donation intervention.
"Since 1999 Luv and Nhyira fm have always been supportive to the blood bank, we acknowledge their efforts in saving lives. It's crucial for people to donate blood and I'm urging Ghanaians to willingly donate blood, " he said.
The two stations have pledged to continuously support the Komfo Anokye Blood Bank to sustain the blood bank.
