Afro-dancehall and reggae artiste, Article Wan, born Bright Homenya has revealed the reason why he stopped granting interviews.
He said some bloggers and television stations gave him a platform, but he declined because there was no available content to promote.
Speaking on Joy Prime’s new entertainment show, On A More Serious Note, hosted by KMJ, the musician explained that he needed time to rebrand, produce new hit songs, and bounce back big in the industry.
“I decided not to go to any interviews because I didn’t have content. Zion was in the UK, and we were supposed to have an interview, but I told him, ‘Zion,’ you’re my boss, but the thing is, I don’t have any content I need to do the interview and get my song played,” Article Wan shared.
The ‘Solo’ hit-maker further explained that his absence was to give himself time to bring forth a bigger and better version of Article Wan.
“At a point in my life, I have decided to sit back and rebrand the Article Wan. Because there’s a lot of money in music, I travel a lot, I hear different stuff, and I see different stuff, so why don’t I sit back? It’s a matter of time; just give time to yourself. I’m not dead yet; I’m not going to die right now; I just need to sit back, work properly, put more energy into my production, the brand, how I appear on stage, my craft, my creativity, and then come back again."
While he was away, Article Wan travelled to some international countries. He revealed on the show that he needed to break out of Ghana’s music market and promote himself globally.
As a result, he has been able to create connections with some industry players in other countries, including America, Germany, Nigeria, Togo, and Kenya, and is optimistic of making revenue from these countries when he begins releasing new tracks.
Article Wan has kept mute on social media for a period of time after releasing some hit songs. Currently, he has released a new single titled ‘YeYe,’ which he is now promoting.
On A More Serious Note is a ‘critictainment’ show where entertainment trending issues are carefully addressed by KMJ with a panel of two and it shows every Friday at 8 p.m.
