The leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has offered reassurance to Ghanaians, particularly the Muslim community, regarding the enduring religious harmony within the country.

According to him, he is determined to ensure that there will be no division between Muslims and Christians if he is elected to lead the country in the upcoming December 7 elections.

He said this in a statement congratulating all Muslims on their Eid-ul-Fitr celebration on Thursday, April 11.

The former Trade and Industry Minister expressed his earnest desire for Ghanaians to elect a leader capable of reconciliation and bringing “us together as one people with one destiny,” regardless of political, religious, or ethnic affiliation.

He continued, “On my part, I would like to assure my Muslim brothers and sisters that if it is Allah’s will that I lead this country, I guarantee continued religious harmony within Ghana and commit to introducing transformative interventions that would improve the livelihoods and well-being of all Ghanaians.”

Mr Kyerematen congratulated all Muslims nationwide for completing a month-long fasting and prayers during Ramadan.

He hoped that the spirit of sacrifice and the demonstration of love for one another, characteristic of the Holy Month, inspire all Ghanaians to recognise the importance of strengthening the “bonds of brotherhood and work towards a prosperous, peaceful, and united Ghana.”

In a separate post on X, formerly known as Twitter on Thursday, April 11, Mr Kyerematen urged Ghanaians to "rejoice in the spirit of unity, compassion, and generosity that this blessed day embodies" as they mark the end of Ramadan.

He emphasised the need for Ghanaians to come together as a nation to celebrate diversity and strengthen the bonds of harmony and understanding that unite them.

“May this Eid-ul-Fitr bring renewed hope, prosperity, and peace to our beloved Ghana. Let us rededicate ourselves to the values of inclusivity, justice, and progress as we work towards a brighter future for all,” part of his statement read.
