Some Ghanaian Members of Parliament were caught up in the ongoing demonstrations in Kenya.
The legislators, mostly from the Local Government Committee, were in the country's Parliament when the riots took a violent turn outside.
A video sighted by Myjoyonline shows the legislators being moved to safety somewhere in the building.
Among the people seen in the amateur footage filmed by Asuogyaman MP, Thomas Ampen Nyarko was MP for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh.
The rest of the MPs are; MP for Odododiodio, Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye; Emmanuel Gyamfi, MP for Odotobri; and Mohammed Hardi Tufeiru, MP for Nanton.
The delegation also included a clerk from parliament in charge of Governance Cluster Committees, Anita Quartey-Papafio.
Meanwhile, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Kenya has assured that the Ghanaian community is safe.
Speaking on JoyNews' Connect Africa a while ago, Damptey Asare indicated that "there’s no unfortunate incident involving any Ghanaian or any member of the Ghanaian community so far no casualties amongst any Ghanaian community."
Kenya protest
Today, four protesters were shot outside parliament, an NGO, the Kenya Human Rights Commission, said
It said one person was killed. This has not been confirmed from other sources.
"Such actions are unacceptable and constitute a grave violation of human rights," it added.
Protesters can be seen pushing to enter parliament where MPs have just voted to approve the controversial finance bill, which raises some taxes.
