President Akufo-Addo has condemned the attempted assassination of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a statement released on social media, President Akufo-Addo expressed his solidarity with President Trump and the American people during this troubling period.
He explained that “such acts of politically-motivated violence have no place in our world, and undermine the principles of democracy and peace that we all hold dear.”
The statement emphasised the shared commitment to democratic values and the importance of maintaining peace and stability globally.

“We send our heartfelt best wishes to President Trump and the American people during this difficult time, and we pray for his swift and complete recovery,” President Akufo-Addo added.
The attempted assassination has sparked international condemnation and raised discussions on the safety and security of political leaders.
Details of the incident are still emerging, and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the US Secret Service says it is working to discover "what happened, how it happened, and how we can prevent an incident like this from ever taking place again".
Its chief, Kimberly Cheatle, has been summoned to testify before a committee of the US House of Representatives on 22 July.
