Appolonia City has donated GH¢35,875 to the Appolonia KKMA Junior High School (JHS) to support the provision of two hot meals a day throughout the examination week for the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE).
Appolonia City’s similar donation to help prepare last year’s candidates for the same exam yielded positive results.
Appolonia KKMA Junior High School was ranked one of the best public schools in the entire district, achieving a 96% pass rate.
Almost all of the candidates presented for the examinations gained admission into their first and second-choice high schools.

Notable among the schools are Holy Child, Accra Girls, Mawuli, and seven-time National Science and Math quiz champion Presbyterian Boys Secondary School.
“On behalf of my fellow students, I would like to thank Appolonia City for this donation. I am confident that we will make you proud this year as we did last year,” said senior girls’ prefect Isabella Badu.
Speaking on the decision to support the school and candidates in this manner, Marketing and Communications Manager of Appolonia City, Yaw Acheampong Adjei, said, “We believe that good nutrition plays a key role in education and is necessary for good performance.
"We have supported the candidates of Appolonia KKMA JHS for several years now and will continue to do so. This is part of our commitment to the people of Appolonia.”
Appolonia City is a development in partnership with the Appolonia Traditional Stool.
