The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2024 Manifesto is a bold action plan designed to build on the impressive record of President Nana Akufo-Addo, promising to create millions of jobs for Ghana's youth and drive significant national development.

This was underscored by the Lands Minister, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, during the manifesto launch in Takoradi on August 18, 2024.

He highlighted the achievements of the NPP government, particularly in the mining sector, where Ghana has now overtaken South Africa as the leading gold producer on the continent and ranks sixth globally.

"Our policies have attracted new investments into the country, with three new gold mines under construction," he stated.

These investments, according to Mr Abu Jinapor, will create numerous high-paying jobs for the youth when the mines commence production.

In addition to bolstering the mining sector, the NPP has implemented value addition, local content, and participation policies, ensuring that Ghanaians benefit directly from the burgeoning mining industry.

"The reduction of withholding tax on unprocessed gold in the small-scale mining sector has led to a 6,000% increase in gold exports," Mr Abu Jinapor noted, underlining the government's commitment to local economic growth.

The manifesto also outlines plans to establish a novel Minerals Development Bank, aimed at further boosting job creation.

"It will be jobs, jobs, jobs for the Ghanaian people," Mr Abu Jinapor declared.

Beyond mining, the manifesto underscores the government's achievements in forestry and environmental protection.

"Ghana has become a global leader in forest management and nature-based climate action," Mr Abu Jinapor said, pointing to the success of the Green Ghana Project, which has seen the planting of over 52 million trees in just four years.

On security, Mr Abu Jinapor praised the government's efforts in equipping the armed forces and securing the nation’s borders.

"The Akufo-Addo Government has settled $13 million in arrears owed to peacekeeping personnel and increased their allowances," he mentioned.

The Minister added that government's investment in the military and police has significantly bolstered national security.

In a passionate appeal to the youth, Mr Abu Jinapor urged them to choose the NPP and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, whom he described as a "smart, hardworking, youthful, and problem-solving leader" capable of leading Ghana into a prosperous future.

"A vote for Dr Bawumia is a vote for bold solutions for the future," he stated.
