The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has formally requested an urgent meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to address issues arising from the ongoing voter exhibition exercise.
According to the party, the meeting is to discuss some serious discrepancies discovered during the ongoing 2024 voter exhibition exercise.
In a letter signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, the NDC explained that these discrepancies emanate from analysis of the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) given to the party by the Commission, and registers being exhibited at the centres.
The voter exhibition exercise began on August 20 and is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Below is the NDC’s full letter.
REQUEST FOR AN IMPORTANT EMERGENCY MEETING WITH YOUR TEAM OVER THE 2024 VOTER EXHIBITION EXERCISE
We bring you greetings from the NDC Party Headquarters, Accra and trust that this letter finds you well.
We write to request an important emergency meeting with you and your team to discuss very serious discrepancies discovered during the ongoing 2024 voter exhibition exercise. The discrepancies emanate from analysis of the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) given to us by the Commission, and registers being exhibited at the centres.
We anticipate a favourable and timely response as we work towards free, fair and transparent elections.
Signed
General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey.
