The Very Rev. Prof. J.K. Asamoah-Gyadu has been elected as the new Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana.
This landmark election marks the beginning of a new chapter for the church as it continues its mission to spread the gospel and serve communities across the nation and beyond.
Prof. Asamoah-Gyadu, a distinguished theologian and academician, is widely regarded as one of the foremost authorities on African Christianity, Pentecostalism, and Charismatic movements.
Born in 1964, he has dedicated his life to the study and teaching of theology, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from the University of Ghana, Legon, followed by Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the prestigious University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
With a rich academic career that spans decades, Prof. Asamoah-Gyadu has served as a Professor of African Christianity and Pentecostal Studies at the University of Ghana, Legon.

His extensive body of work, which includes numerous articles and books, has earned him a reputation as a leading voice in the study of Christianity in Africa.
He has also held significant roles within the Methodist Church Ghana, including serving as the president of Trinity Theological Seminary.
