Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running-mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), at the weekend performed her last academic ritual as Chancellor of the Women’s University in Africa (WUA) in Harare, Zimbabwe.

“I have engaged with the WUA family in my official capacities for the last six years. This year’s trip comes with mixed feelings, as it counts as the university’s 20th anniversary and my farewell graduation ceremony,” she said in a statement.

“My six-year stay with WUA, however, confirms my belief that we are family – and family does not truly leave family behind.”
