U.S. Ambassador Virginia E. Palmer and Rear Admiral Issah Yakubu, Chief of the Naval Staff of the Ghana Navy, have visited the Ghana Navy Training Command (NAVTRAC) in the Volta Region to officially deliver new security equipment.
The package, worth over GH¢24 million ($1.5 million), is aimed at boosting Ghana’s maritime security.

The delivery included two 38-foot Defender Class Safe Boats, which join the two boats already provided to the Ghana Navy Special Boat Squadron last summer.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Palmer said, “This handover represents our strong partnership with Ghana, built on shared values of security, democracy, and prosperity.

"It also highlights our joint commitment to ensuring the Ghana Navy is prepared to protect its waters.”
In addition, a new boat storage facility was constructed by U.S. Navy Seabees, working together with Marines from the Hershel Woody Williams Marine Detachment Engineer Platoon.
