Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Madam Jean Mensa, has announced plans to launch an online platform that will allow voters to review their registration details free of charge.
According to her, this initiative aims to enhance transparency and accuracy ahead of the upcoming 2024 elections.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on October 1 at the IPAC meeting, she said, “The commission in the coming days will exhibit a provisional voter’s register online. We have developed an online platform to allow voters to review their registration details at no cost to the voter.”
In addition to the online review, the EC will provide a designated time period during which voters can report any discrepancies they find in their registration details.
She urged all voters to take advantage of the online platform to verify their details and report any discrepancies they may encounter.
”The idea is to allow a second exhibition of the voters register as part of our effort to open up our processes and to ensure our register is robust and accurate for the 2024 elections.”
“We urge all holders to reveal their details and present any discrepancies they may have to us. This process will certainly guarantee a fairer cleaning of the register,” she said.

She assured that the EC remains open to scrutiny and will work with stakeholders to enhance the register's accuracy, but stressed that the commission will maintain its independence and integrity throughout the process.
The EC Chairperson reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to ensuring a transparent and fair election, encouraging political parties and the public to stay engaged and cooperative as preparations for the 2024 elections continue.
