Berekum Chelsea extended their unbeaten run in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season with a commanding 3-1 victory over relegation-threatened Legon Cities at the Golden City Park on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
The former league champions continued their impressive form, securing their third win of the season after three draws, while adding to Legon Cities' struggles. The visitors remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just one point after six matches.
Chelsea took the lead in the 16th minute when Emmanuel Sarpong calmly finished off a well-crafted team move. However, Legon Cities responded swiftly, equalising just two minutes later through Kamal Suraje Salifu.
Stephen Amankona, last season’s golden boot winner, restored Chelsea's advantage midway through the second half, notching his second goal of the campaign.
Hubert Gyau sealed the win in the 81st minute, scoring from midfield to make it 3-1 and secure all three points for coach Samuel Boadu's side.
With this result, Berekum Chelsea maintain their unbeaten record, while Legon Cities’ winless streak continues, leaving them in desperate need of a turnaround.
