Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, met with his Burundian counterpart Albert Shingiro on Thursday in Rabat.
During the discussions, Mr Shingiro reiterated Burundi’s unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Sahara region.
He also reaffirmed Burundi’s backing of Morocco’s Autonomy Plan as the only credible and realistic solution to resolve the regional dispute.
Shingiro further praised the United Nations’ efforts as the exclusive framework for reaching a practical, lasting resolution to the Sahara issue.
