Defending champions Samartex 1996 will look to maintain their strong home record as they host Legon Cities at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday in a Ghana Premier League (GPL) matchday 10 clash.
The Timber Giants, currently sitting 6th with 14 points, have shown resilience this season, boasting a solid home form with three wins and a draw, and have kept clean sheets in their last two home games.
They come into this encounter with an impressive unbeaten home record this season, adding to the pressure on their opponents.
Legon Cities, on the other hand, are struggling near the bottom of the table in 17th place, despite gaining momentum with back-to-back wins in their last two matches.
The Royals have endured a tough season, with a league-high 13 goals conceded and no wins on the road, managing just one away draw in four outings.
They face a daunting task against Samartex, a side they’ve consistently struggled against since the Timber Giants' promotion to the GPL in the 2022/23 season.
Samartex have dominated Legon Cities at home, winning both previous encounters – a 2-1 victory in 2022/23 followed by a commanding 3-0 win last season.
With their current form and home advantage, Samartex will be confident of extending this record, while Legon Cities will be determined to defy the odds and secure their first away win of the season.
