Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has unveiled plans for an innovative "edutourism" initiative designed to draw international students and educators to the country.
The programme, according to him, aims to offer a unique blend of academic and cultural experiences, allowing visitors to engage in Ghana’s rich history and diverse cultural heritage.
Representing Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Adutwum explained at an event in Accra on Sunday that the "edutourism" programme will also contribute to economic growth.
“Our goal is to make Ghana a top choice for educational tourism. This programme (edutourism) will enhance our educational landscape, foster cultural exchange, and contribute to economic growth.”
Dr. Adutwum emphasised that the initiative aligns with the government's broader vision to transform and globalise Ghana’s education sector, urging Ghanaians to support the NPP in order to bring this vision to life.
Additionally, Dr Osei Adutwum voiced strong support for the NPP flagbearer as the best candidate to continue the initiatives of President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
“Bawumia has demonstrated a deep understanding of our challenges and opportunities,” Adutwum stated, adding that “his vision aligns perfectly with the progress we have made under President Akufo-Addo.
