The Ghana Chamber of Mines has extended its heartfelt congratulations to President-elect John Dramani Mahama on his election as President of Ghana.
“Your victory as the first non-consecutive President of our dear country is a testament to your resilience as well as the trust and confidence the people of Ghana have in your vision and leadership,” a statement issued by the Ghana Chamber of Mines, copied to the Ghana News Agency said.
“As you embark on your second term of office, the Ghana Chamber of Mines stands ready to support your administration in fostering a thriving and sustainable mining sector.
“We remain committed to working collaboratively with your government to ensure that the mining industry continues to serve as a key cornerstone of Ghana’s economic development.”
It said under Mr Mahama’s leadership, the Chamber was confident that the sector’s potential would be further harnessed to drive job creation, skills and technology transfer, infrastructure development, and the overall well-being of communities across the nation.
“We look forward to the implementation of policies that not only balance economic growth with environmental and social responsibility, but also create an enabling environment for investment, local capacity building, and long-term sustainability of the sector for the benefit of all Ghanaians.”
The statement wished the President-elect immense success as he leads the nation into this promising new chapter.
The Ghana Chamber of Mines is the main mining industry association in Ghana.
The Chamber represents the collective interests of companies involved in mineral exploration, production, and processing in Ghana.
Its member companies produce over 60 percent of Ghana’s mineral output.
