John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, says with the support of his experienced Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, this is an opportunity for a new governance.
He described his new government as an opportunity for a fresh start, following what he termed as years of hardship in the country.
"In the last few years, we have moved from crisis to crisis, but there is hope on the horizon. Today should mark the beginning of a new opportunity – an opportunity for us to make a difference in our governance and economic management."
"We shall reset our dear nation, Ghana," he added.
The President emphasised that resetting the nation requires faith from everyone. "With faith, you believe in what you know, and that is why we need faith to achieve our reset. We need this reset with the faith we have in our country and our leadership," he explained.
President Mahama promised that his government would prioritise policies designed to alleviate the burdens of Ghanaians.
Speaking shortly after being sworn into office as the 6th President of the 4th Republic on Tuesday, January 7, he urged the populace to trust in his leadership.
Before his victory in the 2024 general election, Mr Mahama had promised to "reset Ghana" through various intervention programmes, including his ambitious proposal for a 24-hour economy.
