Ghanaian actor, farmer and entrepreneur John Kofi Setor Dumelo, has been appointed as the Deputy Minister designate for Food and Agriculture.
The announcement was made on February 5, 2025 by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Spokesperson to President John Dramani Mahama.
John Dumelo is currently the Member of Parliament of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
Born on February 3, 1984, Dumelo had his basic education at Christ the King School in Accra. He attended Achimota School and was part of the Drama Club. He further studied Civil Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Later, he enrolled in GIMPA's School of Public Service and Governance.
He started acting in the early 1990s in a 1992 movie called Baby Thief while he was attending Christ the King School.
Apart from acting, John Dumelo is also involved in both crop and animal farming. For the past few years, he has announced his dedication to agriculture and has encouraged the youth to get into the venture.
