Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, will attend the official launch and balloting ceremony of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League on Tuesday, 18th February 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium.
His confirmation came during a meeting with a delegation from the University of Ghana’s Sports & Wellness Directorate and RITE Sports Services.
The delegation, which visited to congratulate him on his recent appointment, also briefed him on the league’s objectives and upcoming fixtures.
Hon. Adams commended the organizers for their innovative approach to corporate fitness and networking through sport. He assured them of the government's full support, reiterating its commitment to promoting sports participation across all levels.
The UG Corporate Football League, set to run for 20 weeks from February to July 2025, is designed to foster camaraderie, fitness, and teamwork among corporate institutions and university colleges.
Building on the success of the UG Corporate Football Gala in November 2024 - won by Union Ghana - the league will feature 16 teams from various industries.
Matches will take place under the floodlights at the University of Ghana Stadium every Friday night, promising an electrifying atmosphere for players.
