The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has served notice of relocating its high and low-tension lines in the areas affected by coastal erosion in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region.
This is to avert any calamity as the areas continue to experience great devastation caused by the high sea waves.
The ECG's Oti Regional General Manager, Ms. Christina Jatoe-Kaleo disclosed this after an on-site visit to affected areas, including Agavedzi, Amutinu, Salakope, Fuveme, Kpokporgbor, and Agorkedzi.
The team assessed the situation regarding electricity supply and the installation of infrastructure in the impacted areas.
Ms. Jatoe-Kaleo highlighted her outfit's commitment to ensuring the safety of the residents and providing a stable power supply during the relocation works.
She said ECG engineers who have been conducting feasibility studies to evaluate the necessary steps for relocating installations would commence work in earnest.

The Regional ECG Engineer, Godfred Awuku said that while five electricity poles suffered damage due to the coastal erosion, relocating them will necessitate the installation of a total of twelve new poles.
“This initiative is critical for reinstating reliable power access to the affected areas in the future”, he said.
The Denu ECG District Manager, Timothy Affrim assured that the communities affected would not experience interrupted power supply during the relocation work.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that these communities will experience uninterrupted power supply as we undertake these essential improvements”, he said.
