Agri-Impact Limited, a leading agribusiness firm, has spearheaded the celebration of women making remarkable contributions to agribusiness through the Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) Programme.
The event, held on 10th March 2025 at Aglow Processing Factory in Potsin, Central Region, brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including participants of the HAPPY Programme, students from Potsin T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS, members of the Federation of Persons with Disabilities (GFD), and traditional leaders.
The gathering aimed to highlight the essential role of women in driving agricultural innovation and growth.

Under the theme "Accelerating Inclusion of Young Women and Persons with Disabilities to Drive Innovation and a Thriving Agribusiness Sector," the event underscored the need for greater participation of marginalised groups in agribusiness.
Juliana Asante-Dartey, Deputy CEO of Agri-Impact Limited, commended the dedication of young women involved in the programme, encouraging them to consider agribusiness as a viable career path.

Similarly, Maamie Nyamekye Hutchful Nortey, a board member of Agri-Impact Limited and researcher at the University of Ghana, highlighted innovation as a key driver of progress, particularly when women play an active role in shaping the sector.
Ama Gyan, Gender, Youth, and Social Inclusion Manager at Agri-Impact Limited, urged young women to remain focused and work collaboratively to overcome industry challenges.

She emphasised that empowerment is about fostering resilience and mutual support rather than defiance.
Nana Boakye, Executive Director of Aglow Farms Limited, expressed his excitement about celebrating the impact of women in agriculture, stressing the need to acknowledge their achievements and sustain progress towards gender equality.
About HAPPY Programme
The HAPPY Programme is a four-year initiative in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, aimed at creating 326,000 dignified work opportunities for Ghanaian youth, particularly young women and persons with disabilities.
The programme focuses on the rice, soybean, tomato, and poultry value chains and is implemented by an eight-member consortium, including institutions such as Newage Agric Solutions, the National Service Authority (NSA), and Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).
Since its launch in December 2023, it has generated over 138,000 job opportunities in just 15 months, significantly advancing youth employment in agribusiness.
As the programme continues to expand, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering an inclusive agribusiness environment that offers sustainable employment and empowerment for Ghanaian youth.
With a strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration, Agri-Impact Limited and its partners remain dedicated to driving growth and transformation within the agricultural sector.
