President John Mahama has expressed concern over the high number of fire incidents recorded last year, stating that 6,436 cases were documented.
He urged the Acting Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service to strictly enforce fire safety regulations and enhance public education on fire prevention and response.
He said at the Jubilee House during the official announcement of the Acting Chief Fire Officer, the Comptroller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, and the swearing-in ceremony of the new Director-General of Prisons.
The President assured personnel that his administration would do everything possible to provide the necessary logistics and support to enhance their work.
