Ghanaian artist Juliana Gharbin has embarked on a Guinness World Records attempt by creating the World’s Largest Beaded Sculpture (beaded bag).
She has therefore produced a beaded bag to set a record for that category in the Guinness World Records showcasing Ghanaian craftsmanship on the global stage.
Going by the rules for the attempt, she got help from eight other 'beaders': Akosua Adutwumwaa Amoah (Dr.), Babra Ajok, Addo Tijani, Sandrine Kouassi, Lordia Konadu Appiah, Setor Akua Modzro, Bridget Esi Quansah and Fauzia Alhassan.
Together, they used 216 packs of beads in making the world’s largest beaded bag. The bag made of bead and twines, has a dimension of 2m width, 1.4m height, and a length of 2.7m.
Before they started creating the bag, they needed a map surveyor to map the dimension. This process was recorded and added to the files sent
It took Juliana and her team thirteen (13) days in total to create the beaded bag. They started from 1st March, 2025 to 13th March 2025.
The whole beading activity for the attempt took place at Ocean Green Beach Villas, Prampram.
Juliana applied for the attempt on18th September 2023 and had the approval on 30th November 2023.
Footage of the beaded bag and other materials needed will be sent to the Guinness World Records for approval.
