Former Minister for Railways Development, John Peter Amewu, has been released following his arrest by National Security operatives on Tuesday, 25th March 2025.
Amewu was reportedly detained for questioning in connection with the $2 million failed Sky Train Project.
His arrest is part of ongoing investigations into the botched initiative, according to Accra-based Citi FM.
The Sky Train project, which had allegedly received $2 million in funding, was found to have failed to achieve its intended objectives, as confirmed by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, in a press briefing on Monday, 24th March.
