The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has announced that global energy giant Chevron has expressed interest in Ghana’s upstream sector, while Kosmos Energy has committed to scaling up its investments in the industry.
This development is expected to revitalise Ghana’s oil and gas sector, which has experienced a decline in recent years.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, March 27, the Energy Minister emphasised the importance of attracting foreign investment to sustain growth in the sector.

He stated that the government remains committed to ensuring a favourable environment for investors while working to enhance the country’s oil production capacity.

"We must take all necessary measures to reverse the downward trend in Ghana’s oil sector," Jinapor noted.
