The Member of Parliament for Builsa South and Deputy Minister for Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, has called on all Ghanaians to unite in the mission of building an education system that is both equitable and resilient, capable of meeting the demands of the 21st century.
Speaking at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Public Lecture Series on Friday, April 11, Dr. Apaak emphasised the need for collaborative effort in reshaping Ghana’s educational landscape.
As part of the event, which brought together key figures in the education sector, Dr. Apaak used the platform to highlight the crucial role of education in the nation’s development.
"As we gather here today to deliberate, reflect, and exchange ideas, I urge all of us to consider how we can collaboratively build an education system that is equitable, resilient, and responsive to the needs of the 21st century," he said.
Dr. Apaak's call for a more inclusive and adaptive education system aligns with the government’s broader vision for educational reform, which includes increasing access to quality education, addressing disparities between urban and rural areas, and ensuring that Ghana’s schools are equipped to prepare students for a rapidly changing global landscape.
In his address, the Deputy Minister underscored the importance of recognising the students as the future of the nation.
He encouraged them to embrace learning as an ongoing journey rather than a mere stepping stone towards a career.
“To the students here today, you are the future of this nation. Embrace learning not just as an end, but as a lifelong pursuit. Your curiosity, passion, and sense of purpose will shape the future of Ghana and beyond," Dr. Apaak affirmed.
Anti-corruption crusader and renowned Pan-Africanist, Prof. P.L.O. Lumumba, is also set to speak on 21st Century Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Public Lecture Series later today.
