President John Dramani Mahama, Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has urged newly commissioned officers to uphold responsibility, integrity, and professionalism as they embark on their military careers.
Addressing graduates at the Ghana Military Academy’s commissioning parade on Friday, April 11, President Mahama underscored the critical role the Ghana Armed Forces plays in national peace and stability.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. You are no longer officer cadets—you are the future of the Ghana Armed Forces,” he said.
“Leadership is not about rank or privilege; it is about responsibility and service. I urge you to lead with integrity, courage, and compassion,” the President added.
He reminded the officers that the nation holds high expectations of them and charged them to remain committed to national service.
The ceremony, marked by vibrant military drills and rich ceremonial traditions, was witnessed by senior military officials, government representatives, members of the diplomatic corps, and proud family members signifying the cadets’ successful transition into commissioned officers.
