The Upper West Regional Police Command has secured the conviction and sentencing of two men involved in a string of robberies within the Wa Municipality.
Abdulai Ibrahim, also known as Baba, a 34-year-old driver’s mate, and Abdulai Kipo, a 36-year-old butcher, were found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery and multiple robbery charges.
The Wa Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Jonathan Avoogo, sentenced Ibrahim to 28 years in prison with hard labour and Kipo to 18 years.

According to the police, the pair were responsible for a series of armed attacks in areas including Napogbakole, Danko, SSNIT, and Konta all within the Wa Municipality. Their arrest followed intensive intelligence-led investigations conducted by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate, which gathered detailed evidence to support the prosecution.

In a statement, the Upper West Regional Police Command expressed satisfaction with the outcome. “The court’s verdict underscores the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice and safety in the region,” it said.
The police also reassured the public of their ongoing efforts to maintain law and order. “The Upper West Regional Police Command reaffirms its determination to make the region safe for peaceful coexistence and will continue to work tirelessly to combat crime and protect its residents,” the statement added.
