The 7th episode of Joy Prime’s Big Chef Season 4 kitchen was on fire this past Sunday, June 22, 2025, as the remaining ten young budding chefs delivered yet another flavorful and intense task dubbed the ‘Kivo Hot Pepper Soup Challenge.’
Powered by Kivo Products, the episode pushed the contestants to reimagine local soups with a twist, blending traditional ingredients with creativity and flair.

The dishes presented were as diverse as they were daring. Contestants whipped up everything from beef light soup with gari, rice with thick light soup, and banku with light soup, to even Indomie served in soup. But the most talked-about creation of the night was Serwaa’s ‘Champion Taste’ dish, a rich, flavorful konkonte dish paired with her themed Kivo hot pepper soup and accompanied by a carrot-ginger drink, which she dedicated to Mohammed Kudus.

“I dedicate this meal to Mohammed Kudus because he is my inspiration. I salute Kivo, and I present to you: Champion Taste. I believe when you’re done tasting this, 'I go score more points',” Serwaa told the judges with confidence.
Aside from the deliciousness of her meal, the judges were also overwhelmed by her passionate presentation. This earned Serwaa the Star Chef title for the second time, making her the only contestant to have achieved this distinction.

The judges were unanimous in their praise, confirming her dish was a standout. Her tribute felt even more meaningful as Mohammed Kudus recently starred in an advert for Kivo's 4 in 1 gari, making the moment a perfect blend of food, football, and fandom.
Sasha’s ‘Coastalistic Kivo Pepper Soup’ paired with Indomie Tuo Zaafi an inventive dish made with konkonte powder and Indomie also impressed the judges implying the kids’ ability to remix Ghanaian staples in bold ways.

But while one contestant rose, others fell. Two contestants were evicted this week Elaine and Rena. The eviction was emotional, but in a surprise twist, the judges decided to save Rena’s brother, Jaden, giving him another shot at the title.

What continues to set Big Chef Season 4 apart is its ability to blend storytelling, innovation, and culture in one pot. Each episode about food, family, identity, resilience, and imagination. And this week was no exception.
With Kivo adding spice to the challenge and the contestants giving it their all, the show reminded viewers once again why it remains Ghana’s top family culinary competition.
