Renowned legal luminary Tsatsu Tsikata has called off a planned three-day celebration to mark his 50 years in legal practice, in the wake of the devastating helicopter crash that claimed the lives of two Ministers of State and six others.
The highly anticipated event, which was set to honour Mr. Tsikata’s five-decade journey as one of Ghana’s foremost legal minds, has been shelved out of respect for the national tragedy.
“Following the tragic news of a helicopter crash that has sadly taken the lives of the two Ministers of State and six others, the three-day event to celebrate fifty years of my legal practice is cancelled,” Mr. Tsikata announced in a statement issued Wednesday, August 6.
Visibly shaken by the loss, the esteemed barrister and solicitor at Fugar and Company expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.

“We are overwhelmed with grief, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased,” he said.
The country remains in mourning following the crash, which abruptly ended the lives of some of its most dedicated public servants.
As tributes pour in nationwide, Mr. Tsikata’s decision reflects a solemn recognition of the collective pain being endured.
A towering figure in Ghana’s legal and political history, Tsatsu Tsikata’s milestone moment was to have been a celebration of resilience, intellect, and service.
Instead, it becomes a quiet reflection of shared sorrow in a nation stunned by tragedy.
