The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight individuals, including top government officials and military personnel, on Wednesday, August 6.
In a statement issued on Thursday, CIMG extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, particularly the spouses and children of the deceased, as well as to President John Mahama, the Government of Ghana, and the Ghana Armed Forces.
“The fallen were heroic servants of the nation, engaged in a critical mission to combat illegal small-scale mining,” the statement said.
“Even in this moment of national mourning, we must celebrate their virtues and devotion to the ideals of integrity, service, and the progress of Ghana.”
The institute commended the swift efforts of security personnel and emergency responders in recovering the remains and ensuring their dignified transfer to the morgue.
It also urged journalists and media platforms to handle coverage of the tragedy with sensitivity and professionalism.
Reaffirming its commitment to responsible national development, CIMG pledged to support initiatives that promote safety, transparency, and environmental stewardship.
“May this moment of grief also serve as a call to build a safer, more united, and resilient Ghana,” the statement added.
