GOIL PLC has expressed deep sadness at the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight distinguished Ghanaians.
Among the victims were Defence Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah; Environment Minister Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna; NDC Vice-Chairman Samuel Sarpong; former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye; and three dedicated military officers: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
According to a statement from Goil on Thursday, August 7, the deceased persons were men of purpose and distinction whose contributions to national development, peace and security had been self-evident in their leadership.
"Their sudden loss is a profound tragedy that has touched GOIL PLC and every Ghanaian," the release added.
GOIL PLC also expressed its deepest sympathies to the friends and families, the Government of Ghana, and the Ghana Armed Forces over the tragedy and the period of national mourning.
"Our nation grieves for these fallen heroes, and we celebrate their legacy of service, sacrifice, and patriotism. We stand with all Ghanaians in prayer, seeking comfort and strength for the bereaved families and the institutions affected by this tragic loss. May their souls rest in perfect peace," the statement concluded.
