Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi drew considerable attention when he was spotted among supporters of former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, during the filing of nomination forms for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer contest.
Mr Agyapong filed his nomination on Wednesday in preparation for his second attempt to lead the party.

The filing took place on Wednesday, August 27, at the NPP headquarters in Accra, where Mr Agyapong was accompanied by party executives and close allies, as well as several teaming supporters.
Nyantakyi’s appearance reignited speculation about his political intentions.
The former GFA president has largely remained out of the public eye since he was implicated in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé on football corruption.
The presidential primaries is expected to come off on January 31, 2025. So far, five persons are expected to be in the race.
