With the Akwatia by-election slated for September 2, the Ghana Police Service has stepped up not only its visible presence but also its community engagement efforts.
The Police have deployed 5,500 personnel to the Akwatia constituency, with most of them embarking on coordinated marches on the streets this morning as part of their reassurance measures.

Director of Operations, COP Vance Baba Gariba, emphasized that these officers will prioritize community outreach, encouraging voters to come out and exercise their democratic rights without fear.
A portion of the force, approximately 600 officers, have undergone a rigorous five-day training at the High Risk Operations Training Centre (HROT-C) in Akyeremanteng.

The training curriculum included tactical drills like rappelling, precision shooting, vehicle stop-and-search operations, crowd control, and human rights awareness.
