The 2025 edition of the PruRide Accra ended in thrilling fashion at the Black Star Square, with Mary Samuel of the Cycling Federation of Nigeria emerging as the champion in the women’s 75km road race.
Samuel crossed the finish line with a time of 2 hours, 58 minutes, 52 seconds, clinching the top spot and walking away with a cash prize of ₵15,000.
She was followed closely by her compatriot Patience Effiong Otuodung, also from the Cycling Federation of Nigeria, who finished second in 3:01:23 to earn ₵8,000.
Ghana’s Erica Sedzro of Team Sky thrilled the home crowd with a strong ride, securing third place in 3:01:27, just four seconds behind Effiong, and received ₵5,000 for her effort.
The event which is in its sixth edition is presented by Prudential Life Insurance Ghana in partnership with the Ghana Cycling Federation and powered by CarbonAv.
