Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has disclosed his outfit operate without a budget until it receives approval from the Presidency.
He made the revelation at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday to provide details of the Black Stars’ budget for Match Days 7 and 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Ghana will play Chad in N’jamena before returning to face Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 4 and 8, respectively.
“The Ghana Football Association submits what I will describe as estimates, which the Ministry forwards to the Presidency after analysing its details,” Adams explained.
“Until the Presidency approves, we do not have a budget.”
The Minister said the briefing was in line with John Mahama’s directive to ensure transparency in national team financing.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars departed Accra on Tuesday afternoon for Chad ahead of Thursday’s crucial fixture.
