The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mubarak Mohammed, has renewed the curfew imposed on Sampa Township in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region.
This follows advice from the Bono Regional Security Council.
The curfew, which takes effect from Thursday, September 4, 2025, will run daily from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Minister urged chiefs, opinion leaders, youth, and residents of Sampa to exercise restraint and resort to non-violent means in addressing challenges confronting the community.
He stressed the importance of peace and dialogue in resolving disputes.
The statement further announced a total ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons within the township.
“Any person found with arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted,” it warned.
Authorities say security agencies will continue to monitor the situation to ensure compliance with the curfew and to maintain peace in the area.
