President John Mahama says his administration has shown in its first eight months that it is breaking away from the old ways of governance and resetting Ghana on a path of accountability, honesty, and renewed hope.

Speaking during his media encounter on Wednesday, September 10, President Mahama stated that his government is not operating under a “business-as-usual” mindset.

“For the past eight months, we’ve demonstrated that we are not here to continue our business as usual. We are here to reset Ghana, to restore the soul of our nation, to revive its economy, and reignite the spirit of hope and possibility in every Ghanaian,” he said.

Reflecting on his mandate, the president described the December 7, 2024, elections as a turning point for the country.

“That vote was a call, not just for leadership, but for a change of direction, for honesty, for accountability, and for a reset. It was for a different kind of governance, one that listens, one that acts, and one that cares,” President Mahama noted.

He said he took the oath of office on January 7 with the full awareness that Ghanaians were tired of excuses from the political elite and weighed down by hardship.

His administration, President Mahama stressed, was committed to delivering results and not just promises.
