After months of break, the new Ghana Premier League (GPL) season beckons this weekend as Bibiani GoldStars chase back-to-back titles.
With lots of positive signs and new additions, the 2025/26 season promises loads of excitement, with the campaign getting underway on Friday, September 12.
As part of the opening weekend, Basake Holy Stars will face newly-promoted side Eleven Wonders in their first game of the season.
Holy Stars will be playing in the Ghanaian top flight for the second time after enjoying their maiden campaign last season. They finished with 41 points, just six points above the relegation zone.
They were one of the best-performing teams at home last season, as they amassed 35 points from 17 games, including 10 wins, five draws and only two defeats.
Eleven Wonders, on the other hand, secured promotion to the top flight again after beating Real Tamale United in the Division One League playoff game at the Accra Sports Stadium.

A 90th-minute decider from Farouk Ameyaw ensured a 2-1 win over the Tamale-based side as they sealed a return to the Premier League.
Wonders make a return after three seasons following their relegation at the end of the 2021/22 season.
The game will take place at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday, September 14, with both teams hoping to start on a high.
