Government Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has described the turnout at President John Dramani Mahama’s recent presidential media encounter as “impressive and unprecedented.”
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, September 15, Mr Kwakye Ofosu said the event reflected the strong public and media interest in the President’s governance agenda.
“The attendance was remarkable,” he stated. “We had an overwhelming presence of journalists, editors, and senior media professionals, which is a clear demonstration of how much value the media attaches to the President’s accountability to the people.”
He stressed that the event was not only about numbers but also about the quality of engagement.
“The range of questions posed and the depth of issues discussed showed that the media took the encounter very seriously. It was an excellent platform for the President to clarify policies and respond directly to the concerns of Ghanaians,” Mr Kwakye Ofosu noted.
According to the Communications Minister, President Mahama’s commitment to openness and transparency was once again affirmed through the session.
“The President has always made it clear that he welcomes scrutiny and accountability. That is the hallmark of true democracy, and I believe the attendance at this event speaks volumes about the trust the public and the media have in this process,” he added.
