The Kensei-Kai Foundation, in partnership with WKM Security Company Limited and with support from the KGL Foundation, has introduced a series of Security Awareness and Drug Abuse Prevention Workshops as part of its ongoing High School Karate Initiative in the Upper West Region.
The programme, held over four consecutive Saturdays — 23 and 30 August, and 6 and 13 September — reached four schools: Islamic Girls’ Senior High School, Wa Senior High Technical School (WASECTECH), Naa Momori Technical School and Wa Senior High School (WASEC).

Each two-hour session brought together students, teachers and facilitators to deepen understanding of personal safety, discipline and the dangers of drug abuse.
Trainers from WKM Security Company Limited led the sessions, which combined practical drills, interactive discussions and role-play exercises to build students’ situational awareness and refusal skills in real-life scenarios.

Participants also received education on the negative effects of drug abuse on health, academic performance and future opportunities.
These workshops form part of the wider High School Karate Project, launched in May 2025 at the Wa Regional Library.
The initiative seeks not only to promote karate as a sport but also to use it as a holistic platform for self-discipline, security consciousness and youth empowerment across the region.
