Prudential Bank Limited (PBL), a prominent indigenous Bank, has donated a Nissan Navara 4x4 pickup truck for the sixth year running to support the Ghana Teacher Prize.
The vehicle will be awarded to the first runner-up at the upcoming ceremony, set for October 5, 2025, at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Cedi Auditorium in Ho.
Presenting the vehicle to the National Teaching Council (NTC) on behalf of the Bank at a brief ceremony in Accra, Executive Head, Corporate and Institutional Banking at PBL, Edward Commey, expressed pride in collaborating with the Ministry of Education, the National Teaching Council (NTC), and the Ghana Teacher Prize to motivate educators.
“Quality education is fundamental to societal advancement. Education equips individuals, fuels economic progress, and strengthens community bonds”, he said.
Mr. Commey was accompanied by the Bank’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Akosua A. Boahen.
The NTC Registrar, Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Council praised PBL for its dedication to enhancing teachers’ performance.
He stressed that honouring exceptional educators aligns with national goals and thanked PBL for its consistent support.
Dr. Addai-Poku also encouraged other corporate institutions to emulate PBL’s lead and contribute to the Ghana Teacher Prize.
The 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize, now in its seventh year since rebranding from the Best Teacher Awards, marks 31 years of recognizing outstanding educators.
Since 1994, the Government of Ghana has rewarded teachers with prizes such as houses, vehicles, and monetary awards to motivate others.
This year’s event, to be held in Ho, in the Volta Region, will begin with a two-day symposium and exhibition at the Volta Serene Hotel on October 3 to 4, 2025, concluding with a grand ceremony at the UHAS Cedi Auditorium on World Teachers’ Day, October 5, 2025.
President John Dramani Mahama will attend as the Special Guest of Honour.
